Ethan Downing is an Actor and Playwright, and often  loathes himself for not being able to comprehend the depth of his characters or for being an uptight creative control freak, depending on which side of the stage he falls.  He graduated from Fordham University with a BA in English, and minors in Philosophy, Medieval Studies, and Unemployment.  Ethan has appeared on the New York stage in a number of roles, mostly as pubescent little boys since his body grows hair everywhere except on his face.  Ethan is patiently awaiting the joyous day when he finds out that he is the bastard love child of Robin Williams and Sasquatch.

He has originated roles in a number of new pieces, none of which have gained any more recognition than the “off-off Broadway” theater section in Time Out NY.  Prior to The Complete Works Abridged, Ethan’s Shakespearean credits numbered four of the thirty-seven, including A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Lysander, aka young boy), Love’s Labour’s Lost (Moth, aka young boy), and A Winter’s Tale (Mamilius, aka a young prince, aka young boy).  Ethan has trained with Fordham Experimental Theater’s improv troupe, FUCT, performing in venues including the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre.

Ethan has written and directed several plays, including Coffee and Fools and The Man Who Came to Breakfast.  He has not appeared on Law & Order, but would very much like to be one of the dead people in the opening credits, particularly if it involved some sort of intimate scene with Jill Hennessey (call me, Jill).
